Procedural Generators Overview
Explore expression-driven shader generators for interference, moire, scanlines, masks and custom formulas.
Choose a tool
Choose an authored expression preset to start from a working field, or Custom to edit expressions. Scale sets structure, Amount controls influence and Phase moves through the field. Luma Threshold needs an upstream image to supply brightness.
In this section
Interference Fringe
Draw overlapping wave sources into interference fringes that can animate as phase-driven moire bands.
Moire
Draw crossing periodic fields into tight moire patterns for screen interference and optical vibration.
Radial Rings
Draw concentric animated rings from the centre, useful for radar pulses, ripples, and target masks.
Luma Threshold
Convert source luminance into a cyclic threshold matte that can pulse between black and white regions.
Perlin Noise Field
Generate looping Perlin noise fields for organic textures and displacement maps.
Procedural Scanlines
Generate expression-based scanlines with RGB phase offsets for procedural display textures.
Polar Swirl
Draw angular polar bands that spiral around the centre for vortex masks and abstract motion fields.
Custom
Author custom per-channel expressions using position, source colour, noise helpers, scale, phase, and amount.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Texture & Pattern → Generative → Procedural in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
