Choose a tool
Choose Drop Shadow for an offset silhouette, Stroke for a hard outline, or Outer Glow for a soft halo. Apply the treatment to an isolated source; a self-contained group keeps its alpha separate from the wider stack.

Drop Shadow
Cast a configurable shadow behind the layer, with offset, blur, opacity, colour, and blend controls.
Stroke
Draw an outline around the layer alpha, useful for stickers, captions, logos, and cutout emphasis.
Outer Glow
Add a soft glow outside the layer alpha for light spill, neon edges, and subject separation.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Layer → Border in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
