Frame-to-frame
Use the previous rendered frame or a bounded frame history to create animation feedback and time artifacts.
Choose a tool
Choose Motion Trails, Long Exposure or Phosphor Persistence for accumulating movement; Frame Echo or RGB Delay for lag; Time Shear or Slit Scan for mixed moments; Difference for change detection. Data Mosh, Feedback Warp, Pixel Smear, Pixel Sort and Freeze Holdout retain or transform selected history.
In this section
Temporal Motion Trails
Accumulate previous rendered frames so bright animated movement leaves persistent light trails.
Frame Mosh
Carry image blocks from previous frames through movement for broken-video smears and datamosh trails.
Difference
Compare the current frame with the previous rendered frame and visualize only changed regions.
Feedback Warp
Warp the previous rendered frame back into the current one for recursive video-feedback drift.
RGB Delay
Let colour channels lag behind motion by mixing each channel with previous-frame history.
Pixel Smear
Detect changed regions and drag previous-frame pixels through motion as directional smears.
Temporal Pixel Sort
Sort only frame regions that changed, creating motion-triggered pixel streaks over time.
Freeze/Holdout
Hold static or moving regions from previous frames while the rest of the image refreshes.
Temporal Slit-Scan
Blend a scan band from the previous frame into the current frame for temporal slit artifacts.
Long Exposure
Blend several previous frames together to soften movement and build long-exposure light trails.
Frame Echo
Sample a delayed history frame and composite it back as stuttered ghosts or repeated silhouettes.
Time Shear
Map rows or columns to different history frames for rolling-shutter and multi-frame slit effects.
Phosphor Persistence
Keep bright pixels from previous frames and decay them like CRT phosphor or oscilloscope persistence.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Temporal → Frame-to-frame in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
