Noise & Grain
Add noise, film grain, or grain-adjacent finishing texture to break up clean digital surfaces.
Choose a tool
Choose Uniform for even digital grit, Gaussian for softer tonal variation, Salt & Pepper for impulse specks, Speckle for image-dependent noise, or Film Grain for a photographic response.
In this section
Uniform
Add evenly distributed random noise for digital sensor texture, grit, and light grain.
Gaussian
Add bell-curve noise that clusters around subtle values for photographic grain and soft variation.
Salt & Pepper
Inject black-and-white impulse specks for dirty sensors, damaged scans, and aggressive static.
Speckle
Multiply source pixels by granular noise for rough paper, dust, and image-dependent texture.
Film Grain
Add photographic grain with tonal response, clumping, and per-channel variation.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Layer → Filter → Noise & Grain in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
