Distortion
Coordinate warps that bend, smear, refract, tile, liquify, or re-map the image geometry without just recolouring pixels.
Choose a tool
Use Basic Distort for a local geometric bend, Warp for fields and displacement, Liquify for editable anchors, or Puppet Warp for pinned deformation. Tiny Planet and Droste remap the image into polar or recursive layouts.
In this section
Liquify
Push, pull, twirl, pucker, or bloat image regions from editable anchor points.
Puppet Warp
Pin and drag control points to smoothly bend the image like a flexible sheet.
Directional Stretch
Drag samples along a line or radial direction for clean directional smears and stretch marks.
Basic Distort
Use familiar wave, ripple, swirl, twirl, bulge, pinch, and fisheye warps for direct shape changes.
Warp
Apply advanced flow, smear, spectral, displacement, heat, and block-based warps to restructure pixels.
Tiny Planet
Remap the image into polar space for tiny-planet, tunnel, and spherical panorama looks.
Droste
Repeat the image recursively through a spiral or frame for Droste-style infinite nesting.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Distortion in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
