Media Sources Overview
Add images, video clips or live capture as media layers, then transform, mask and composite them.
Choose a tool
Choose Image for a still source, Video for a seekable clip, or Live Video for a camera, screen or window. Video has trim and timeline controls; Live Video must be explicitly started and stopped.
In this section
Image
Place a still image as a transformable layer. Move, scale, rotate, anchor, and composite it with the same layer controls as effects.
Video
Place a video clip as a transformable layer, trim its source range, offset it on the timeline, and composite it with the same layer controls as effects.
Live Video
Capture a camera, capture card, screen, or window as a live media layer. Transform, mask, and composite the current capture with the same layer controls as other media.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Primitive → Media in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
