Edit
Use the current canvas as an AI reference image and rewrite it according to your edit prompt.
Add Edit
Open an image or build the source composition first. Put this effect after the content it should process in stack processing order. Choose GenAI → Edit in the effects picker, or search for Edit with Cmd/Ctrl + F. Select the new layer in Layers to open its Effect Panel.
Prepare the reference
Build the image you want to edit before the AI Edit layer in processing order. Enter a prompt describing the change and choose the model; review the quoted cost before generating.
Generate and review
Click Generate to send the current image as the edit reference. Compare the generated result with the source using the layer eye or opacity. Changing upstream content does not request another edit: update the prompt and generate again when needed.
Upscale the source
Choose AI Upscale in the panel’s Mode dropdown. Choose Model and Factor when the model offers it, review the quoted cost and click Generate. Add the optional prompt only when the selected model supports creative direction.
Compare and finish
Toggle the layer eye to compare with the incoming composition. Use the Effect Panel footer for opacity and blend mode, or add a mask to limit the affected area. In Video or Live, use the function menu on a supported control to add keyframes or a driver.
