VHS
Add tape tracking errors, head-switch tearing, dropouts, chroma delay, wobble, and generation loss.
Add VHS
Open an image or build the source composition first. Put this effect after the content it should process in stack processing order. Choose Optics → Display → VHS in the effects picker, or search for VHS with Cmd/Ctrl + F. Select the new layer in Layers to open its Effect Panel.
Set tape wear
Adjust Tracking Error and Wobble for unstable lines, then Head Switching for the lower-band disturbance.
Add colour and dropout damage
Tune Chroma Bleed, Chroma Delay and Generation Loss. Increase Dropouts or Tape Noise for worn tape. Animate Tape Phase or Dropout Phase to move the pattern over time.

Compare and finish
Toggle the layer eye to compare with the incoming composition. Use the Effect Panel footer for opacity and blend mode, or add a mask to limit the affected area. In Video or Live, use the function menu on a supported control to add keyframes or a driver.
