Choose a tool

Choose Pattern Generator for noise, cells, gradients or checkers. Choose Procedural for expression-driven fields with a Phase control. These layers can create a source for a blank composition, mask or displacement map.

Use it in the app

Open a project and find Texture & Pattern → Generative in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
