Basic Distort
Use familiar wave, ripple, swirl, twirl, bulge, pinch, and fisheye warps for direct shape changes.
Choose a tool
Choose Wave or Ripple for repeated displacement, Swirl or Twirl for rotation, Bulge or Pinch for local expansion or contraction, and Fisheye for a lens bend. Position the centre before increasing strength.
In this section
Wave
Displace pixels with angled sine waves for flag, water, heat, and vibration warps.
Ripple
Push circular waves outward from a centre point like a stone dropped into water.
Swirl
Rotate pixels around a centre into a vortex with adjustable radius and strength.
Twirl
Twist the image around a centre with a tighter spiral profile than broad swirl.
Bulge
Push pixels outward or inward like glass magnification or inflated material.
Pinch / Punch
Pull pixels toward a centre point for pucker, punch, and concave lens effects.
Fisheye / Barrel
Apply barrel or fisheye lens distortion for wide-angle bending and spherical exaggeration.
Use it in the app
Open a project and find Distortion → Basic Distort in the effects picker. Choose the specific tool, then select its layer in Layers to open the Effect Panel. Related modes may share a mode dropdown at the top of that panel. The pages below explain source requirements, first adjustments and conditional controls for each tool.
