Accumulate previous rendered frames so bright animated movement leaves persistent light trails.

In: Frame-to-frame

How it works

Temporal Motion Trails is the animation-only version of Motion Trails.

It renders frames in order and feeds the previous rendered output into the next
frame, so bright moving regions persist as decayed light trails. The first
frame, still renders, and scrub renders behave like a reset because no previous
frame is available yet.

Use the regular Light > Motion Trails effect for single-frame long-exposure
streaks. Use Temporal > Temporal Motion Trails when the trail should build from
video or animation playback over time. Temporal Motion Trails keeps the direction
and highlight controls, but omits the single-frame sample count and internal
trail blend mode.
