How it works
Pixel Stretch pulls colour from one edge of a warp quad and stretches it across the quad.
Place the quad over the part of the image you want to pull from. The base edge samples the source strip; the opposite side defines how far the streaks travel. Moving the corners and edge handles bends the ribbons, so the stretched pixels can curve around objects instead of staying as straight bands.
Key controls:
- Extent grows or retracts the stretch from the base edge.
- Sample Offset moves the sampled strip just off the base edge, useful when the edge itself is too sharp or too dark.
- Feather softens the boundary where the stretch replaces the underlying image.
- Band averages a thicker source strip for smoother ribbons.
Tips: duplicate the layer for multiple independent stretches, animate Extent for a reveal, and keyframe quad handles when the stretch needs to follow motion.
