Portal Input captures the composition at one point in the stack. Portal Output composites that saved result later in the stack.

Add a portal split
Use Add portal split in the Layers header to create a connected input and output.
Keep the pair forward-only
The input must come before the output. Either half can be inside a group, but neither can go in a mask folder.
Blend the output
Portal Output owns the blend mode, opacity, mask, and visibility controls. Portal Input only captures the result.
Copy or delete the pair
Copy and duplicate keep both halves connected. Deleting either half removes both halves.
